Santa Maria Novella - Florence, Italy, The first great basilica in Florence, and is the city's principal Dominican church. The site dates from 1221 although building only began about 1279, and finished around 1360. The upper part of the white marble facade was added later in 1456?1470. The architectural style is Gothic-Renaissance.
