Memorial dedicated to the Belarusian soldiers-internationalists who died in Afghanistan in the years 1979-1989. The complex is located on an artificial island on the Svisloch River, in the heart of the old Minsk. Construction was begun in 1988, when the Afghan war is not over yet. As part of the memorial stands a small chapel, the walls of which are inscribed the names of all Belarusians who died in Afghanistan.
