Fratelli Alinari, located in Florence, Italy, is the oldest photographic archive in the world.  The archive's beginnings and growth parallel the birth of photography and photographic innovation. The Alinari collection is a major source of Italian, European, and worldwide imagery with subjects such as history, society, culture, and the arts.  A century and a half after its founding in 1852, the Alinari archive continues to grow, develop, and add to its already strong collection.
